Health and Safety and Learning and Development are vital topics for many organisations, but when global mining giant Anglo American asked for help, it was literally about saving lives.

With multiple large-scale operations around the world, and production efficiency directly connected to the teams on the ground, the business needed an innovative and effective manner to help people stay safe in hazardous working environments.

Our Solution

VR is a proven teaching tool and can give users first-hand experience of potentially dangerous scenarios without exposing them to physical risk. We created a virtual refinery environment called “Learning From Incidents” that simulates the workplace and helps employees spot hazards and address them before becoming dangerous.

Having spent time on-site with the Brazilian Anglo American L&D team, we developed a modular learning objective approach before turning that strategic thinking into a high-quality virtual experience. And having beaten all client expectations on learning and realism of the experience, the next phase of this groundbreaking project is expected to begin soon.
